HISTORY OF THE INSTITUTE

The Institute , already existing since 1946 as private school , changed its name "ISTITUTO PROFESSIONALE FEMMINILE " (Female Professional Institute ) in today's name "ISTITUTO TECNICO FEMMINILE GRAZIA DELEDDA"in 1961 .

The school had two courses ,one oriented on Food Science and the other oriented on General Culture.

These courses , still existing are called "INDIRIZZO GENERALE "and "ECONOME DIETISTE".

In 1980 two more courses were added , oriented on the study of foreign languages and biology .

These courses are still active at the moment , with the names "BIOLOGICO SANITARIO" and

"LINGUISTICO MODERNO".The school includes 1625 students and 200 teachers in 67 classes.

Though the official name is "TECHNICAL FEMALE INSTITUTE ", boys are admitted in the school

and are more present in the new courses ( linguistico and biologico-sanitario ).

Some classes in first and second level follow some special courses in informatics.
